 Contractors

Clients, employes, sub-contractors, vendors, job-costing, scheduling and quality are a few of the considerations in contracting. Marketing, bid-proposals and government  rules and regs are a few more.

Having a written plan is a great idea, you've had them, but how can you possibly keep it up and run the business? Time management, there's another one to add to the list. Prioritizing what's most important. Seems like all you do is put out fires. Well, sometimes. Then there's times you can reflect and update and improve what you're doing and how.

Job duties and descriptions are an important place to begin. But they change, and must be updated periodically.

One of the challenges is the service vehicles. Getting the right worker(s) to a job on time with the needed tools and materials in the right vehicle, then getting that job done on time, in budget with a fully satisfied customer. Doing the project with a minimum trips for additional tools and material.  See Fleet Operators.
