 Change Management in Turbulent Times

     Machine shops, assembly plants and nurseries all convert raw materials over time with inputs by equipment and labor into finished goods. This results in complex inventories, storage and labor considerations. Marketing, sales, capital, cash flow, distribution and forecasting are critical factors to profitable operations. 

     Outsourcing to Asia is dramatically changing the manufacturing in the developed nations. There are niches left, but not much. Dental labs, some high tech and defense industries are a few. Specialized and small markets, or ones with urgent turnaround times are holding their own. Entreprenuers in China, India and other high population, no government safety and insurance regulation and hence low wage economies are mastering production methods, design innovations, raw materials sourcing and transportation to major markets.
